I'm really disappointed by the results of the Northern Irish Assembly elections on Thursday. I used to think of the DUP as an extremist, on-the-sidelines party and they've now become the mainstream, overtaking the UUP. Sinn Féin have also overtaken the moderate SDLP as the top nationalist party in Northern Ireland. It depresses me that the majority of the voters have elected these extremist parties to represent them. What does this say about the state of our country?
