The BBC ran a story this morning about Des Wilson resigning from the ECB. As part of this, there was a clip from someone at the ICC saying that moral judgements should be made by governments and the ICC would stick to cricket (which I can't, unfortunately, find a link to at the moment). I find this position completely and utterly morally repugnant. It is up to the nation as a whole – and remember that ‘the nation’ is made up merely of the people in it – to decide morality, and leaving moral decisions to a small and exclusive group is the last thing that any democracy should want to do. None of us should shirk the responsibility to make moral decisions, and the ICC has behaved in a cowardly manner in doing so.
