This interesting article on The Register argues that the Government's ID card proposals are slowly but surely being eroded away. I'm not yet convinced: a lot of politicians have invested an awful lot into this scheme, but if it does fall by the wayside (and I really hope it does), it's bound to be yet another nail in Blair's coffin.
